Projects code release

Hello,

sorry if the following was already discussed...

Some Boinc projects, like MilkyWay@Home, release their source code, so people with appropriate skills may help to improve the projects and reduce calculation times. Milkyway@Home can be crunched with a lot of optimized application, for all CPU (SSE, SSE2, 3, 4.1, 4.2, etc) and even ATI GPU (and in a few days, Nvidia GPU too).

I use the ATI GPU optimization since a few days, the benefits are awesome : I calculate approximatively 20 times faster than a Core2Quad !

I saw a lot of discussions about GPU here and I understand very well why WCG does not have a GPU project (Nvidia/Cuda or ATI/Brook). I know it is a hard task, which require certain skills.

But what the tech scientists can't do, maybe some of us can ? If you try to release some source code, maybe one or two people can help to improve the code ?

Thank you ^^

Re: Projects code release

AutoDock code being public (used on FAAH & DDDT), have a look through... who knows. CHARMM has been around for a very long time but don't know if their's is. :D

No, WCG does not publish the code. It hosts only.

And yes, discussed number of times. See for instance thread where bbover3 responds.
