Morning all its a wet un.....
----------------------------------------Went darn sarf yesterday to the "Court of the Earls" Boarded a " Virgin Pendelino" at 08.30 that tipped us out at Euston at 11.10 we were a bit unfortunate to have to share the carriage with the Fylde valley rugby team .Loud BIG Lads who were playing Ealing trail finders they did have a block booking of seats but seemed to spend all the journey standing in the isle blocking it I Think this was a traing exercise I hope it paid off on the pitch. At Euston Spent a penny (as one does) to find it now costs 30p I wonder does the Lunnon Allowance still exist? Took a Cab to our destination A tad costly 23 quid but as we wanted to see a bit of our capital without the hassle of choosing buses and not seeing anything in the tube it was worth it with a proper cabbie who was chatty when he found out where we had come from explaining our whippets flat caps and mufflers. there was a large exhibition outside the arena which we only saw a small part of After the 3 hour show which was really good, Just like the old Royal Tournament our seats just one row back from the front. We opted to take the tube back to Euston at 5pm it was a bit busy fuelled by the exiting crowd from the show Heavens knows what it will be like next year when there is that big sporting event, bedlam............ We unfortunately missed the 1830 northbound never mind there is a 1930 this gave time to grab a snack. Whilst checking the departure screens for platform info near the ticket offices, a nice manager type asked could He help ? When I said Lancaster he pulled a face the 1830 has gone not another one tonight It was okay tho 'cause we just had to get to Preston then change to the Barrow two car local sprinter . Like Tony said there does seem to be a great deal of building in progress I found the traffic no worse than Lancaster with a very agile taxi driver we had a good trip The station at Euston was immaculate staff helpful The end of the day at 2220 collecting the Car from the Car park the final spend of the day 15 hours for £1.20 ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by densnaps at Dec 5, 2011 10:39:00 PM] |

Thanks Tony
----------------------------------------Pleased with the pics Along with 200 others that are not as nice as this one some bluerrrrred you want to watch the show but nice to get photos with out spending the entire show with camera welded to the eye go to my face book for the movie of the musical ride the highlights were the white helmets and my top part the field gun run Thats not counting the marching bands the Drill squad from the USA throwing rifles about with bayonets on with precision the Lancers tearing around the arena firing at balloons from a horse quite scary when sitting on the front row The sounds were unbelievable Bangs, helio above, fast jets coming in blowing up of pickup trucks LOADS & LOADS of smoke |

Oohh, they are!
There is a reason why ![]() - here is last year's show in ultra condensed form Royal Military Show 2010 - it must have been spectacular no end ... and I saw no little buns in the hairdos of those participants in their undershirts |

Evening all
Great photos Den. Yes, little mermaid, I got to like gravadlax when living in Germany and, with a Swedish recipe, started making my own when back in the UK. For a while it was difficult to get enough dill but my local Turkish shop has the necessary big bunches of fresh rather than the little samples found in the supermarket. |
