As Winter draws on.......I thought it was time for the first Cake & Siddly pud.....to my own recipe.....

Gently fry Morrisons best diced stewing steak & kidney in own juices for 10 minutes.
Add two medium sliced onions & fry for 5 minutes.
Add sliced button mushrooms & fry for 10 minutes.
Add packet of Batchelor Oxtail cup-a-soup and simmer for 3 hours.
Leave overnight to infuse.
Tip into casserole dish and cover with suet crust made from Morrisons Herby Dumpling mix.
Bake in oven for 1 hour.........enjoy!

Chef V Wishbone

Thank you chef

OOOOHHHH you are awful.....
but I like you.
sounds like it might be a winterwarmer to fill the gaps
***********************
Me?, We have a slow cooker for kate and sidney
The snake and pygmy Pud has to be made in a pudding basin
with proper suet crust pastry in a pudding basin
sorry that its not steamed in a muslin cloth but some things have to go in the interest of time.
I use the recipe from grandma writ in her own hand smile
the same goes for suet pud .
This far north we do have proper " meat mongers" that actually buy prize winning beast's on the hoof at the fat stock shows & display the carcass hanging in the shop with the rosettes on

Some folk dont know that the meat on the supermarket counter wrapped in plastic
are actually cattle .When you went into ken woodburns shop there was no doubt

Re: Chef V Wishbone

Evening all

We too have a proper local butcher but I tend to use him for their own made sausages and get the other meat from a Scottish mail order company and I'll be having one of their steaks soon for dinner this evening.

Re: Chef V Wishbone

Good Morning!
One hour lighter, but still not light, just dawn.
Hazy, barely any wind, no percipitation just moist air, decent temperature of 10.5 C
- if my back-to-back neighbours are up to it,
we'll take our long postponed tourists-in-our-own-city safari today
and find all the hidden treasures
Find Your Way in Næstved City
In Danish only, sorry ...
Smartphone, GPS, riddles, details, attention, history, cultural heritage fresh air, all packed into one folder
- what more can you wish for? Oh, yes, we'll probably squeeze in lunch and/or coffee

Re: Chef V Wishbone

The tour looks interesting LM

I love walking around Lancaster and looking above the shop fronts at street level
there are many old interesting features above your normal eyeline

The Lord Nelson

I know the connection
with John GM and Nelson
I think that I have a rare bit of memorabilia
I found at a car boot ,
an eye patch ???? bearing in mind the value of items connected with the sailor ......

Not any old eye patch however it has a NHS imprint on it .
Which must I think equate to= Nelson ---Horatio---Sightaid ?
What a find Sometimes I get lucky. Question is shall I keep it as a memento of a great man or rush for cash and send it direct to the auction house??????

please advise
