First the Sky/ Beeb dodgy dealing over the weekend Mark Webber had a sly dig at it .said Bernie "shorthouse" Ecclestone was talking to him about "Sky " no, the sky & was it going to rain said with a twinkle.
Then Little Jake Mumphry gave us the party line "Dont worry folks " we will still be here giving you the in depth coverage you all know and love The loud shirts of Eddie will still be a talking point .Yeah as if, you dont even know if you've got a job next year
Working on the "it never rains but it pours principle" I dont think its over till some one like Bessie Braddock sings.

Re: Re:

Good morning everyone,
another expensive day ahead.
Food Merling time has arrived again.

For the benifit of our little mermaid (the rest of you know) the name is TED (easier to type than Edwardian),

If I was Tony (Old Sage,) I would be careful going to car booters, he is getting old and people are on the look out for ancient things at such places!
Have a great day everyone.

Re: Re:

@ Guitar Man: It does tie in with our discussion somewhere else
... he-he ... you are open minded and open tasted liking spiced pickled herring
- one of these days I'll try those pesky peas
- can I just boil, boil and boil frozen peas
and then boil'em some more, or do they need other ingredients?

@ don den, I "accused" Guitar Man of being a Southerner
to which he replied he's from Yorkshire.
Rotherham.
Did you know that? smile

Re: Re:

...proper mushy peas can ONLY be made from dried peas.
Soak overnight.
boil GENTLY until dissolves into a mush.
Serve sprinkled with sugar over the top, then sprinkle vinegar over the sugar!

Re: Re:

Thank you, Scribe.
That makes it far more edible in my imagination
- are dried, split yellow peas all right?
They are a staple in Denmark because we use them for a soup simply called "Yellow Peas"
- and which we regard as a delicacy.
It does not take sugar, tho,
but vinegar is added upon eating depending on how they did in your family when you grew up
I found this recipe - it is fairly far from my family variety,
and I doubt chili and garlic were ever staple ingredients
- however it gives the general idea pretty well
