PS. puzzled.??? At the moment I cannot get this Machine to crunch
as you can see I am able to post and I have downloaded the crunching section from the home page but It doesnt show up on my toolbar

...did you install it as a Service?
Also did you ask for Boinc Manager to run at start-up/
Can you manually run Boinc manager from the Program files?

You retired lot are really lucky. Still I survived the most depressing day of the year, which was supposedly on Monday. I'm hoping that in a few weeks it will be light enough to start cycling in! shock
