I have just paid out "an arm and a leg" to have one tree cut down and some others "trimmed". The Council are not involved I'm afraid as the road is private (and unmade!) and the gardens are between "management" and individuals, according to where your garden begins and ends! Never mind, I am happily spending the family's legacy while I am around!! wink

Re: Whatever

Evening all

Twas a chilly morning here until the sun began to have an affect. Since then it's been a very fine bank holiday for a change.

I see none of you have gone to the beach with your bucket and spade and I've been no further than the couple of hundred yards or so round to one of the Village restaurants to enjoy a bistro type lunch with neighbours. He works for the BBC as a sound engineer and will be one of those going north next year and we shall miss their company.

I think it's one of the things we take for grant living down here, so probably go to the beach less than other people inland. sad

So, i put grass seed down on the bare patches in the lawn, the rain having done wonders for the rest of the grass that survived the mini drought. One small problem: a hungry squadron of sparrows, far too many for the bird feeder so they land and peck around whilst in the queue. I doubt there will be many seeds that survive long enough to germinate. I think I better start enjoying bare patches in the lawn! biggrin
