Good evening all
---------------------------------------- Didn't get on this morning, ran out of time. Things have been more than a bit damp here as well, but at least I don't have to worry about flooding. If it floods at my house, the whole worlds in trouble. 900ft above sea level and no rivers near by. Well, gotta run. Y'all have a great evening ![]()

Oh dear, looks like the rain has reached 'darn sarf' now
And I've got my half-hour walk to get to my U3A course this morning. Looks like I'm going to get wet Now do I bother with 'hot-brushing my hair, or do I let them see me as I really am, the "wild woman of Camberley"?Yes, I have got a car, but it goes against my principles to pay the exorbitant prices they charge to park!! ![]() |

morning all....
----------------------------------------just abit breezy but dry ![]() >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The weather people on tv news, reporting on rainfall amounts, tell us that 37 cm of rain fell in 24 hours on Cumbria ( Cumbria Used to be Cumberland and Westmorland till they moved the goal posts) anyway 'Fraid that didn't mean a thing to me guessing by the weather persons face that it was a lot (had sorta worked out that it might be a third of a Metre) =39 inches to Metre ......... 36 inches to the Yard . sorry but my brain only works in units I can understand .Like bag of sugar is 1 kilo that used to be a 2lb bag is now 2.2 lbs. no wonder my thought process is getting slower it has to go through the computations first Any way eventually he said in passing that it was over a Foot of rain ah got that My brain hurts, shouldn't have to be doing all these mathmaticals on a Friday. I have got the 240 pence in the pound,100 pence is eight and fourpence eight half crowns in a pound and so on still hovering , also my mums co-op number . ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by densnaps at Nov 20, 2009 3:49:00 PM] |

The U3A (University of the 3rd Age for those that haven't yet come across it) is one of the best things ever invented! Den, I used to do French and Tap Dancing, (but the latter had to go by the board after my knee replacements) and now I only do 'Singing for Fun' which is great and we are just coming up to the Xmas period where we go around doing lots of 'gigs' for those who appreciate it (and the ones that sleep through it - mainly the elderly in homes!) and 'Self Awareness' which is fascinating! I am thinking of joining one of the walking groups again 'cos they always end up at the Pub!! There is such a lot to choose from and something for everyone. So if anyone is ever bored, have a look and see if there is a local branch of the U3A - I can guarantee you will never be bored again!
