When in work at power stations all over ukay there was always clever chappie who could wield the scissors because we all worked shifts
----------------------------------------24 /7 it was just part of the system a few bob in his hand kept his scissors sharp 35 years in the electricity industry I never had to visit a barber don't know why that was maybe'cause most of the chaps were ex jolly jacks just part of the way they lived power stations were steam generating boilers / Turbines and so on not many jobs that wanted this skill in the outside world so the royal navy had lots of marine engineers who knew steam and water ended up on the leccy generation staff pleased have spent 35 years gathering tales from these guys the Lamp was often swinging on night shifts .... ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at Jul 24, 2009 2:29:19 PM] |

Evening all
Shopping and chores today but showers kept me from cutting the grass. At Lord's again tomorrow for the 50 over County final and as I'm a Sussex man I have to go and support them. |
