RIP
----------------------------------------St Dunstan’s is saddened to announce the death of Henry Allingham at the age of 113. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on 18 July at 3.10am Born on 6 June 1896, Henry Allingham served with the Royal Naval Air Service during the First World War, later transferring to the Royal Air Force and serving at Ypres. Henry was one of only two surviving servicemen from WWI in the UK and was also the world’s oldest living man http://www.st-dunstans.org.uk/news/st_dunstan...NK2urTY3psCFV8B4wodUlIlAQ Listening to some wireless interviews on the occasion of his 112th birthday showed him to have all his Marbles Wish I had mine still His recipe for longevity Cigarette's and Whiskey and Wild Wild Wimmin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8157052.stm Another passing, a mere youngster by comparison The former US TV news anchor Walter Cronkite, known to millions as "the most trusted man in America", has died at the age of 92. An executive for the CBS news channel said Mr Cronkite died at his New York home with his family at his side. He was reported to have been ill for some time. Mr Cronkite presented the evening news programme for CBS from 1962 to 1981, helping the programme to become the most watched bulletin in the US. I do recall some of his broadcasts,And being of a certain age his voice gave some gravitas to reports unlike the frenetic news reports et nowadays....... >>>>>>>>>>>>> On a lighter note how did Tiger lose his ball at Turn bury I just flipped channels at end of Le Tour coverage to see a swamp of fans searching for his ball in the rough some not helping from what I saw The Tv coverage surely should have spotted the ball.. When its found eventually Its gonna be worth a bomb on ebay should be easy to spot its got stripey markings(or so I'm told) ( Stripey /tiger get it?) O kay I know its pathetic ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by densnaps at Jul 18, 2009 11:15:08 AM] |

HEY ANY ONE ELSE AWAKE
----------------------------------------I KNOW ITS SATURDAY BUT sometimes the rain drives us indoors Like today ![]() >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 6.2.28 is the latest system that we should be crunching at had a red message on the "messages" page seems that it does it on its own, Might be wrong tho............. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The European working time directive tells us we have to retire at 60/65 ladies / blokes. Following a letter from on high I have to reply to the boss just to to say I want to work on for the next 12 months. A formal request has to be submitted. What a load of cobblers as long as an employee is an able physical being and hasn't got up the nose of the boss.............Say no more I think the apple for the teacher might have smoothed the path for apple read case of wine ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at Jul 18, 2009 11:42:26 AM] |

Morning everyone, another wet and dismal day, many rivers up here have been rather full. with more than one breaking its banks, (I wonder if the government will "bail" this lot out too?
) The Swale so far has held, but its very near the top, more rain today could push it over. Hope you are all well. |
