Greetings all,
We have temporarily run out of type A work units for The Clean Energy Project phase 1. We are currently working on getting the type B work units for the batches that have been run on World Community Grid. Some of these type B work units may be going through BETA first. This is to double check they create proper results before running. Thank you for helping with The Clean Energy Project! If you have any questions about this please feel free to ask. -Uplinger |

Greetings again,
Let me respond to the posts in order. totto, type B work units will be ready in the future...I can not give you a specific answer as we are just now starting to test some of them internally within our group. frost, You will still be able to get a CEP1 gold badge as we believe more type A's will be coming from the researchers. This was just the first bunch from them. Also, type B work units count towards your badge for the CEP project. TJ, type B work units are a continuation on the type A work units that members have already run. This is just the second step in the work unit from the researchers. -Uplinger |

Is it still estimated that there'll be enough work in this project to last well into next year?

Hi gb009761,
We have a lot to do. Eventually we will develop a smooth pipeline of new batches so that we do not have any interruptions like the current one. Lawrence |

As the B units follow on from the A results, does this mean that the B units will not suffer the non-convergence errors that occur with some of the A units?

This project is estimated to last 2 years. Compared to other currently running projects, I expect CEP to eventually produce several million results (completed workunits) when it is completed.

Hi gb009761, We have a lot to do. Eventually we will develop a smooth pipeline of new batches so that we do not have any interruptions like the current one. Lawrence That is good to know! Seems a shame for a project to have unnecessary downtime, which reduces the efficiency of the project and delays project completion. But I know this project has had its share of a learning curve, and hopefully things will continue to improve. :) |
