I know this is a very noob question but can you run the bonic agent with out the internet and get project updated to a usb device i ask as i am thinking of using the GF pc as well as my own

With my knowledge the answer is no.
The agent, due to the encryption and just how BOINC works to begin with has to connect directly to the project servers. You don't need an "always on" internet connection...but atleast the ability to connect every now and then. Community advisors, please correct me if I'm wrong.  |

 It's doable with e.g. version 5.10.45 and requires some thorough management. I know it works because I've got 3 clients on 1 computer which WCG thinks are 3 different devices.
