cool Re: When will WCG support GPU processing?

For people who have a ATI card, which is not CUDA-capable, you can take a look at the MilyWay@Home project : there is an optimized application which run on ATI HD4850, 4870, and some other cards.

If you're interested : http://www.zslip.com

I try it at home since a few days, I still crunch two WCG units on my Core2Duo, but my 4850 crunch 2 more units on its own ^^

And the crunch times are awesome...

Just the front page where there is a note to increase credit from 6/9th to 8/12th makes me think they have trouble with basic calculus wink

Yes the credit changed a few times these past days.

One week ago, I got 1 boinc credit for one work unit. A few days ago it changed to 8/12 credits for one work unit. And now it's 6/9 credits for one work unit.

One day I think someone will have to think about a standard system for credits, which would be the same for all projects. Project administrators can now create their own credit system and I think it's a stupid system. But it's only my personal opinion...

Re: When will WCG support GPU processing?

Sorry Exar Kun [HoloNet], but both are the same, off the top of my head. You can reduce it to 2/3rd :D

The standard is 100,000 Cobblestones (credit) for 1 Teraflop of computational operations. What a Teraflop in cobblestone terms on a GPU are I don't have the faintest notion. Some are drooling at the large numbers until someone figures that it's comparing apples with broken eggs.
