Virus at BOINC

My avast found a virus in a BOINC file:

file: ..\BOINC\slots\0\wcg_hpf2.random
malware name: Nutcracker family
VPS: 090202-1, 02/02/2009

is it a false positive?

Re: Virus at BOINC

Hi Fabio,

Doubtlessly a false positive and thanks for reporting. I run Avast too. Did the result complete properly and if not, could you please post the Error log from the Result Status page?

thanks

Re: Virus at BOINC

The whistle smiley infers, but in no way confirms to know that Fabio's time stamp is 2 hours away from UTC time, where the default timestamp is 1/1/1970 00:00 on *nix operating systems if no change was made to a device profile.

;o)
