Only 26.7C at 11:45 and an storm front buidling right over our heads. The insurance co just send a text message ''Avviso Rischio, Grandine nel pomeriggio a qui", as in what is still shown 13 years later on the body of our car... big dents made by hailstones the size of cricket balls and then had the fortune to have been parked under a dense laurel hedge. Cars out in the open looked like as having the profile of a gold ball, minus windscreens... those were knocked to bits... something like this http://previews.123rf.com/images/elenaphotos2...il-Stock-Photo-damage.jpg . A very expensive day for insurers it was. As we live on an RRR spot [Ridiculous Resilient Ridge], where 2 atmospheric flows most almost seem to bud heads, these are not uncommon here.
The fossil fuel burner is now safely in the garage [actually has not been out since April, as we do most all on e-bike]. And yes, while typing 11:57, it just started pouring after a near 8 week drought. |

A dear, almost 2 years on, the weather has been relentlessly 'hi summer' the past 2.2 months, we can count 2 thunderstorms that lasted a few hours, 1 with a big deluge 2 weeks ago, 1 with just rain. Latter cause internet to deteriorate badly, but now it's turbo (compared to what it ever was) after ISP tech intervention.
Real feel is about 3C higher, thusly 40C, humidity constant around 65% (per me own hygrometer). The cats roaming the grounds are lying it out in the subterranean. ![]() Rome made the news, 2 years of little precipitation from east to west coast and drinking water starting to become a serious issue (but then, the spill their water system suffers is horrendous, near 50% seepage from the roman times piping and aqueducts) |
