The [world] weather so far in 2015, ruler test still showing what we already knew of 2014... the picture is telling [a waning heatwave on the Iberian peninsula, and here on the Italian booth we're not complaining either... the cherries are ready to pick from the tree in garden... some sampling says high grade sugar content :P]
![]() It's splitting hair of course whether hottest or ex aequo... all but one of those hot 'weather' years concentrated in the 21st century. It's called the Anthropocentric decade. ![]() |

A new paper is out why the Arctic melt has been causing for the jetstream to undulate much deeper south and worse, much slower so weather systems stick much longer... when there's deluge, there's deluge and not normal rains. So happens to read an article from way up in Northern Europe 'Some forest spots look like it's late autumn... instead of boots, you can walk around on your slippers". The northern, bone dry winds, increasing forest / heather fires risks badly.
Same here, very localized, trees already loosing their foliage. Yet 15 miles further the windsor of the House of Chiariere told us last week the season has been dramatically better than last year, which was a write-off for them (We bought some bottles of 2013 and 2009, 3rd of the price in the shops... he would not even sell 2014 but as vinigar). Anyway, it's an El Ninô year, so abnormal weather as we've seen it the last few years, it likely to be even more abnormal [The Med has a known strong 'teleconnection ' with the Pacific. Yesterday we had 35C (official) [95F], so throttling the comps to a third of their regular cycles was not an option to skip, or power off :(. We're bracing ourselves. (Curiously, where last year there was enormous acreage of sunflower growing in the region, this year it was all -all- swapped for grains, oats, barley, wheat... based on the long range weather predictions). Farmers have to live, the world has to eat. |

I believe our would is already in a major climate shift and there is nothing we can do to prevent it. Just like the ice age, the world freezing, now comes the planet heating up. Yes, we probably helped progress it but still beyond our control. All the money in the world, all the so called fixes will not stop what is beyond our control. Just have to live through it the best we can!

Yes, that's the BAU memê. It would actually just cost 6% of GNP... of course those who have lots will cost it more, but then it's 2% owning 90% [worst ratio is apparently the UK, where a 150 or so pretty much own the country]. Those are paying for all the disinformation memê like the Kochs. Would you feel sorry for them ;>)
On weather, finally some rains and midday temps predicted not to exceed 25C [though digital shade side meter indicates 28.6C at this moment, 08:30AM]. So much for localized weather deviations. It rained during the night and now it feels like a sauna. We don't run the aircos anymore. Once you get used to the ambient temp, it does not feel that warm in the shade with some fans to circulate the air. One on NW sucking it into the house, one on SW pushing it out. |

I may have been right if these guys are.....http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science/11733...-age-within-15-years.html Was she talking through her nose or was it the Telegraph ignorant journalist ? [log normal]!"Solar activity will fall by 60 per cent as two waves of fluid "effectively cancel each other out", according to Prof Valentina Zharkova." 60 percent reduction brings solar levels to about few billion years ago ;>) Back on weather, Sgt Joe, we have the next heatwave rolling in, expected to peak on Friday... 36C. Dew points at 21-23C. Last rain... well the lawn has turned it's usual summer yellowish / white. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 12, 2015 1:05:27 PM] |

Lots of time by July the lawn is looking brown and crispy. Not this year. The lawn and garden are positively lush due to timely rains. But, the heat is on.
----------------------------------------Edit: Last night we did get the storms predicted with lots of wind and lightning. Had to shut down systems temporarily. Had a brief power outage, but no damage. Got a little more than 2 in(5 cm) of rain. Tropical weather continues for a while. Cheers

As I gestily commented in other thread, it was per 'my' weather station 33.3C at 10:58AM, and just checking the official station with Stevens screen, last measured at 11:00AM, 33C with 'Real Feel' of 40C, dew point 20C. Supposedly the temps will peak at 34C today, and all through next week Sunday... 9 days, then a drop to 26C. No exertion, no e-cycle tours up the mountains and colli... we'll leave that to Chris Froome [how appropriate the name]. Our dress code today falls in the category > 18.
