Re: Houston, we have a problem.

Courine, I'm afraid I can't see where you are going with this thread. What do you want World Community Grid to do that they aren't doing already? As we have repeatedly said, members who have suddenly stopped contributing are already getting individual emails letting them know.

When? For it may be the only option.

The problems faced are far more than the firewall issue. I see 4 issues. 2 were adressed and some may have been spuratic. But the gavity of this matter has much more than its more obvious problems. Even Sek's graphs points out the problem I see in a global way.

If you cant see where this thread is going, well it seems there is much you dont see. My problem in this is are you glossing over the loss and does everyone know why?

What gets me though, is the complete lack of awareness by all. You guys seem to have a clue yet not see the gravity. Am I the only tiger here who would actually care?

sad Seems so. sad

Please take it up with the admin directly. I'm tired of innuendo and inference and conspirator talk. You don't see anything nor do I think you understand the data and why the curves do what they do in that chart.

And, please use a spell-checker. It's difficult enough as it is for the none-English speaking readers to translate your posts and understand what you're on about.

thanks

Re: Houston, we have a problem.

Skerob ... thank you for the fine charts you present for everyone at WCG, I for one really appreciate the work you do with them. I have 1 minor suggestion... can you format the number in the lower right of the chart you posted above to be something other than scientific notation?

Thanks again,
Steve

Now says 26 million :D

There you go.

Now back to D., as you are actually asking a question. Why is it that we have so much more processing power in the grid now, when all that changed was the data center?

Ok, your turn. When does the email, if a machine is seen to not be crunching, get sent to the user?

We do not send an email to a user if a machine stops crunching. Only if the user stops having any computers that returns results. That email is generated after 60 days of inactivity. We originally had the threshold lower, but it generated too many false alerts for users who participate on multiple BOINC websites.
