I just thought about scoring beta workunits. If you limit your cache to just the running workunits you have I higher chance of getting 1 workunit because the settings dictate that they check for beta workunits before getting normal workunits. correct me if im wrong please..

Yes, you're wrong.... :-)
Changing your cache size simply changes the point at which your scheduler requests happen, but not the frequency. |

thanks, i was just wondering because everyone is under the illusion that this allows you to get beta units.

This "illusion" was in fact a misunderstanding between the staff and us. We believed that beta WUs were sent only to "fast returners" while it was said last week that it does not matter.
----------------------------------------That said, under the "illusion mode" (which still applies for getting repair WUs or not) there is no need to run without any work queue. Whether you are a fast returner or a very very fast returner makes no difference. Once your average turnaround time is below 21 hours there is no need to decrease it to an absolute minimum. Cheers.
