Re: Hallelujah. Found a DDD Work Unit in the Queue this AM

I'm exclusively DDDT right now and haven't had any problems getting WUs. So there is work out there, it's just that the DDDT only guys get the priority of them I guess.

Okay, the techs will have to confirm this, although perhaps there's just so many people who've selected DDD-T, that, as the project is currently being 'held back', there's simply not quite enough work to go round...

understand that, I'm not screaming but just informing community that even if they select DDD exclusively they might not start receiving work at all. I'm fine with other projects, i just added to the profile another preferred project and as soon as I see DDD units in queue I will make DDD exclusive again on that machine.

Re: Hallelujah. Found a DDD Work Unit in the Queue this AM

Supply and demand. If the 7 day daily mean of Dengue results put in the feeders is 12,500 on an all projects total of 300,000 and more, eventually there will be moments arising that the supply chain will have no DDDT, right when a new batch is generated. This is when the log reports this and offers other work if that option has been ticket.

At the moment my HCC / DDDT machine gets on average 1 in 20 DDDT jobs.

Until the techs decide that the project is completely stable and the flow of data to UTMB / TACC is solid and the scientists are up handling the full amount of results, I don't see that happening.

Just observing that as of yesterday for various projects the deadline was reduced from 12 days to 9 days. Not heard why and going to guess, out loud.

I have been following the posts and don't understand the problems. I have been crunching 70-80 DDDT WU every day since the restart. I have reduced my buffers from .5 days to .3 days now to reduce what I have a hold of but I have not had any empty buffers recently, so obviously those dedicated to DDDT are running fine. It must just be those with multiple projects.

Re: Hallelujah. Found a DDD Work Unit in the Queue this AM

DDDT seems to be ramping up to full speed.
I noticed an increase in the number of DDDT WUs in my job queues over the last few days, and the WCG global statistics are now showing an increase in total run-time, etc, for the returned WUs.
These stats are available by clicking on the links for each project that appear on your "My Grid" page when you log in to WCG. You can also get to them by clicking "Statistics" next to "My Grid", and then "By Project". The "Yesterday" subheading has the relevant information, but of course there will be a delay between a change to the amount of work being sent out and the change to the flow of results returned. Sekerob's Graphs will also show the changes when they are updated.
4 days ago, about 5.5 CPU-years of DDDT crunching was returned, 15/2/09 it was 9.6 yrs, 16/2/09 10.4 yrs, ...
Compare this to HCC - 78 yrs, FAAH - 68, HPF2 - 50, NRW - 36, CEP - 14.
(Edit 18/2/09: Clean Energy Project Phase 1 temporarily out of type A work units)
