Don“t know about other dedicated crunchers, but I lost about 200+ hours of VALID work because of the migration. NOT FUNNY (excuse my shouting but I'm sure you would also feel a bit of frustration)
----------------------------------------Two of my homebrewed 'mean Q6600 machines' running at a respectable frequency of 3411 and 3250-3300MHz(depending on ambient temps) and other machines with different specs, all running at home, have been given a 'No Reply' status. Hmm, talking about a smooth migration??? At least 21 Totally valid and completed Rice jobs and 8 ones at various runtimes have been screwed up! Also some completed large Clean Energy Project ones... ex.: R00251_ 2b155fafd4e0e0072f0c241b24733a0c_ 01_ 006_ 11-- No Reply 1/6/09 09:17:35 1/8/09 14:51:18 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 and the job was expected to finish 1/18/09 and finished 01/08/09 and was just aborted or refused by the project!!! I'm not a credit hunter, I'm just mad that all my, and possibly your effort and electricity, has been wasted by this tech screwup. Now the 1Mil $ question is...can the techs recover this lost work since it was totally valid? ![]() |

Don't whine.
This was a smooth migration and I think the techs, admins, and everyone involved should be commended on their hard work and countless hours to make this transition as smooth as possible. I too lost some work, like many other people. That's just part of life. Get over it. |

It's possible those work units are displaying the wrong status - or a misleading status, at least. The techs already apologised for the small quantity of work they had to abort.
I'm very sorry you got hit hard by it. |

BE04642,
----------------------------------------You've been a WCG contributor for a long time, moving a datacenter is not easy .I'm sure that(if possible) we'll all get credit for any aborted work. ![]() "Patience is a virtue", I can't wait to learn it! |

I share some of your unhappiness. I lost about 60,000 points over the 2 days and had about 31 results show up ad "Detached" with no credit. They all seemed to be valid results to me but they were rejected by the server with no credit.

Let's see... I've been working 14+ years in the banking industry as a system operator then administrator.
----------------------------------------So let's talk money shall we? I lost about 50 thousand euro's (credits) because of the migration, mclaver lost about 60 thousand euro's and don't forget the thousands of euro's that have been lost from other users. In real life the tech would be fired and we would receive at least our money and a BIG apology. There is no whining in the real world... Just my 2 cents and I rest my case. (yes I did read the message from knreed in the Known Issues) Don't whine. This was a smooth migration and I think the techs, admins, and everyone involved should be commended on their hard work and countless hours to make this transition as smooth as possible. Hey pal,
according to your id, you are either an IBM employee or a former IBM-er... you should know how this works, and know that this was a very smooth migration given the circumstances. The way you're complaining does not contribute anything to solving the minor problems that might still be there... Cheers from Nederland Gerard. |
