I share some of your unhappiness. I lost about 60,000 points over the 2 days and had about 31 results show up ad "Detached" with no credit. They all seemed to be valid results to me but they were rejected by the server with no credit. - Mitch mclaver, I really wonder what kind of system you are running on. 60'000 points in two days it seems huge to me. Can you please give more details on your hardware. I am running at home a 4 Core QX9770 at 3.2 GHz some times full time on FAH, but your scores are stellar. Gold ![]() |

In a democracy, don't know from which planet you come from Scribe and Blue Bird, volunteers do have rights and don't have to shut up...
----------------------------------------Like I said before, I rest my case and keep on crunching because I sincerely believe in this worldwide project that eventually will benefit us all. Case closed, as far as I'm concerned. And please, shut up the other threads concerning lost work, shall we? Greetings to you too Gerard! (Coingames) This is where you volunteer your time resources, nothing to do with money or YOUR loss ...live with it, stop whinning and shut up!! Well said. ![]() |

Please do not misinterpert my comments. I am not complaining. The migration did go pretty well, but in some cases, some people lost a lot of work. My 60,000 points is based on my recent average of 115,000 points per day and I only got 73,092 on 1/8 and 96,467 on 1/9. There were 31 results that showed "Detached" which I thought meant that the server rejected them. They all looked like valid results before I uploaded them to the server after the migration.
----------------------------------------In answer to your qwetion, I build computers from parts as a hobby, once I bulid them they do nothing but run 24x7 on World Community grid. I've lost about 150 days of time so far and it's not getting better, even the new WU's I'm receiving aren't being credited. I thought they did a good job, remembering how things were at GRID, but this is starting to look oh so familiar. Not only do I want my credit but so does my team, so buck-up WCG and give us our credit!
----------------------------------------Not to mention the electricity wasted for nothing!

Lets ignore the Pending Validation part of that lament for which you WILL eventually get credit.
To see that your current RAC is 2291, good for NT 1 quad and a duo, running up 150 CPU days of missing credit due less than 1 outage day, you can save big time on electricity. It's not going to get cheaper. Ex GRID, you have surely incurred a severe case of Auto-Allergy to anything not working which was almost anything up that place, so allow for a bucket of salt to come your way. Comparing WCG to them is like comparing a diamond to opaque glass found at the local dump. |

I have three rooms with four computers each and they are noticeably warmer. I live in Minnesota, so I ususally get high gas bills so it is hard to tell if I am saving on gas. My electrical bills though continue to be high.

Don't whine. This was a smooth migration and I think the techs, admins, and everyone involved should be commended on their hard work and countless hours to make this transition as smooth as possible. I too lost some work, like many other people. That's just part of life. Get over it. I'm loosing 4000 h per day... I'm not complaining, I just will donate those hours to somebody else. Feel better? ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by ultimaThule at Jan 12, 2009 7:31:17 AM] |
