Dtype --
Congrats on your best ever. I haven't seen a day like that since back in early January when I had a day with 2182. I think one of my systems had been crunching one work unit for over 4 days that time, so I got more than 5 days of crunching credit on that single day! I may be on the road to another good day soon as my old Pentium 3 has been grinding on one work unit for more than 2 days now. |

I reached my best ever yesterday -- 1,860 points... ![]() WTG Dtype - if the team can keep performances like this up we may be able to hold off TW for longer and possibly keep them from overtaking us (will need a superhuman effort and more members/units tho') - we've got to take it to them, actions speak louder than words - as Dave A has stated pound for pound we are the best team. We are slowly catching up Canada so may be able to maintain #5 at worst in the future. ![]() ![]() ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by barney15c at Apr 16, 2005 11:48:07 AM] |

It sure is great to see all the new flags folks, being the most dispursed team with all our ? marks helps us to claim the title of most International team of on-line friends and crunching addicts.
Compdude is back in full fury, which is absolutely great to see. dtype, I tossed a laptop on the pyre to hold you off just a couple of hours longer. I envy all you who can burn thier machines 24/7, I can only do it evenings and weekends. It is spring and I'm shedding my furry thick long white winter coat for a thin white summer one. The under coat hair is so fine and soft the birds love it for thier nest. I often have a circle of birds around me as I lay down outside. They pull the loose hair away for thier nest I don't mind, except when they get too near my eyes, then I bark to let them know they are getting too close. They aren't bothering my family and it feels good. My two legged family banish me to the outside of the house not that I mind at all during this time. I don't like being in, too confining, I only come in to get a pet or two then out I want to do my job of guard. A big fun filled welcome to all our new team members. Thanks for joining our little team that can make a difference, as do all members of WCG from whatever team, proclivities, country, race, religion, creed, humor, sex, hair color, eye color, mouth size, nose size, ears, body type or any of the other nonsense we use to seperate our selves into isolated beings. How many can say the title of the post four times fast without error? ![]() |

Everyone on the team should ask for another PC for Mother's day or Father's day. MOT needs more members or members with more PCs. We cannot let the Dark Side take us down.
Just passed 6 years, my how time flys. Recurit a new MOT member today! |

Hope you got all the bugs fixxed on your end Compudude. It'll be nice to see your graph and numbers start climbing up up and up again. Good luck and hope those machines keep pumping out the the results.

We're Cooking on Gas
---------------------------------------- As jasnyder says bring those PC's to the MOT Party. Know anybody with a PC sign them up and get them to join the team or sign them up on your account. Any PC will do dig them out from the back of that cupboard and fire them up ---------------------------------- Here's a post of mine from a while back on spreading the word. Start a team get a bit of competition going that always boosts CPU time. Create a team web page the folk using search engines are more likely to come across this project if there are more websites out there with links to WCG on them. Become a WCG bore tell all your friends tell your family. Try convince your employer that as part of your companies ethical policy they should of course be contributing their server farm and each employee's desktop pc to the cause. Spend all your pocket money on building extra crunching PC's Think do I spend my hard earned cash on a faster Graphics card or do I sacrifice my 3dmark score for the fastest processor my motherboard will allow. Dig out that tired old laptop you have in a cupboard somewhere every little helps (subliminal plug for Tesco- other supermarkets are available to part you from your hard earned cash) Get one of those quieter heatsink fans so you can get some sleep while your PC works all night Remember its cheaper to build 10 Athlon 2500+ PC's than 1 Athlon 64 4000+ machine. Try finding out just how fast your processor will go reliably (N.B. You do so at your own risk anything written here can not be construed as me giving you permission to do this. I cannot be held responsible for the conseqences of overclocking your machine - you do so at your own risk - but a faster running processor will get through more work units in the same length of time) In my opinion this is the best value motherboard for your money a7n8x-vm you only need that old hard drive you have lying around a stick of memory pinched from your current PC (you don't need 512MB anyway) an Athlon 2500+ Barton and in a few hours we'd be closer to the finishing line (btw other motherboards from other manufacturers are available) Convince your partner that building a PC for your Kids is a good idea. Suggest that you have one of those media center edition PC's for your living room - that X-box/PS2 is so out of date. Beware Crunching is addictive - there's obviously no hope for me --------------------- All of this still holds true except for Barton read Sempron. The teams webserver is running on a B Grade A7N8X-VM400 that cost me all of £18. And yes at the moment it's running with one stick of memory from my main PC but I've found out you do need 512Mb. As you know I'm still working on the Media Centre (Center) PC idea but the Fridge Freezer is cool - literally ![]() Another great days crunching thanks Team.
