Re: New member

Anyone know if any progress has been done in 3rd party stats.. particularly overtake stats based on 7 day averages.. etc.. I'm really into overtakings :)

why else would I have 16 machines crunching? :) my info says 17, but one of them had to be reinstalled.. damn ghost machines...

Re: New member - cyberwire

Welcome to the team. This is definetly the best team on the grid, and hosted by fine English gentelman to boot. I swithed teams to this one about 1 month ago. My former team had no communication, no goals, and no enthusiasm. This one is great.

Welcome again, good luck on moving up the chart.

I'll let the others deal with the stats question.

But welcome to the team, cyberwire. biggrin

Hint to avoid ghost machines: Before the reinstall, if the machine is not totally hosed, copy the entire C:\Program Files\WorldCommunityGrid folder to a network location or another drive/volume before wiping the computer. When you have the machine rebuilt, just drop the folder back into place and recreate any shortcuts needed (like the one in the startup group) by hand. Only takes a moment, and then you pick up where you left off without losing any crunching time on that Work Unit... and without getting another ghost machine in the listings.

Happy crunching!

Hi cyberwire

Is it just me or does anyone else keep trying to post just at the very moment that the 6 hourly stats update take place !!!! All those other minutes in the day and somehow I always just hit the update, it must have happened about 5 times in the last 3 days -aarrgghh.

Right where was I, ah yes, welcome aboard the good ship MOT cyberwire thanks for choosing to crunch with the MOT crew you won't find a more dedicated, more helpful on the forum, more friendly crowd of mad keen, enthusiastic number crunchers supporting the World Community Grid - anywhere - and that's a fact.

As for stats well we've just scratched the surface. At the moment the engine is being rebuilt and I've been loathed to put in a whole load of work on the stats just when the database they are driven from is about to change. We're moving from access to sql server. Have you played Geoff Hammond's GP4? I've been planning for a while now to have the same kind of graphs on the MOT site. On GP4 it shows your posistion against all the team after each lap of the Grand Prix. This will be possible to do for MOT - soon.

Your member profile is now live on the site - the white box will show a graph of your first days points after 00:45 GMT tonight - If you would like me to add any other info on there please drop me an email. My email address can be found on the team website.

Dave (Mr Bell) it looks like we'll be going down another place - again!!!

Roll on tonights stats update. Incidently we have a RSS news feed from Anandtech on the MOT site.

Once again thanks for crunching with us.

Regards

Dave
