i'm about ready to bail on the clean energy project. i had one yesterday that finally finished with over 78 hours and another one running now that is at 77:39:00 and is 97.968% complete. that is slightly ridiculous. ![]() Yeah, I already quit Clean Energy - I support their cause and I think their intentions are noble, but I've ALWAYS had issues with the project. These days, its AIDS and Cancer and that's about all I trust @ WCG. Interesting. CEP is running fine for me. My current results are below. One machine is running XP and the other Vista Business (no UAC). Eight to sixteen hours is normal but I know I've had a few run near/about 30 hours. I just hope I'm not jinxing myself now. I know I saw someone mention trouble with HPF2 WUs here somewhere too. If you're seeing wierdness with WU's, I would recommend you try making sure to do a full machine reboot at least once a week. With XP, I start to see wierdness (not specific to BOINC) usually after a week. If I go longer, I believe I have seen odd things with WUs that restarting BOINC (which a reboot does as well) clears up. Don't recall anything wierd with Vista but I think I probably have done better making sure to reboot that one (I also defrag with the reboot normally).

I have been running Clean Energy on my Quad @ 2.4 GHz and my Duo @ 3.5 GHz. My Quad is taking 25-30 hours for one work unit. My Duo takes 3-10 hours. That seems wrong... very wrong. My Quad requests __ point for the work unit, but I only get 50% of the requested... So I'm losing from it. |

Interesting. Most of mine have run on my quad and I tend to get claimed or a bit higher there. Didn't another project start out like this on quads?

Aqua doesn't seem that humanitarian or that productive educationally when compared with WCG or QMC or PS3Grid. But thanks for the heads up. Swing by more often DM - we miss you over here. |
