We have a number of great milestones today plus a new member who has already returned a result! A hearty Welcome to MyOnlineTeam! goes out to Hidden Crash! Stop by here to say hello and introduce yourself!
----------------------------------------The problem I noted yesterday with one of my machines not being able to upload work until I restarted BOINC appears to be explained by one of Kevin's posts in Known Problems today. Seems that that machine hadn't picked up the new IP address of the WCG servers and restarting BOINC forced it to do that. I also was expecting to see a huge rebound from yesterday in out points. We did come back but it's still not quite back to normal. Did some folks just shut down for the move? Will be interesting to see how tomorrow looks. |

On your question, I probably lost 12-18 hours across the board on the various machines. Some of that went to SETICongrats to IBM for a smooth move |

I've noticed that about half of my production is going into the PV jail. It you check the global stats for WCG, they've dropped similarly. I suspect we're all seeing more WU's than normal getting in the PV jail. Given how WCG shortened the due dates prior to the move, it makes sense. At some point, we'll start seeing all the numbers getting back to normal, unless the move scared off a lot of folks (hopefully not).

My PV jail is actually pretty empty, but then I did have a very good day yesterday. Perhaps another cause for the lower scores is the Clean Energy Project. Those work units come in with very short deadlines and have a higher priority in the queue. When they are scheduled, the execution times are outlandish. I presently have one on this system that has run for over 22 hours and still has at least 5 to go! |
