Re: New Server Farm

I have recived WU's with deadline 7,8 and 9 of january. Is that a good idea if WCG servers are offline at that time?
Mine WU's with those deadlines will be finish before the 7th of january, so it is not a problem for me.

Re: New Server Farm

If the servers return, it could be a conceived scenario to first allow the completed work to be received. After that, allowing work to be send out would minimize duplication. Then, run a routine to apply proper credit to let the least work go to waste, including those marked "too late" for the down period.

As to current buffered work. By the time it's January 8, one could reasonably assume, even on a multi project client with 2 day buffer for that having been replaced with buffered work that is due on January 11, 12, 13

As read, it's been planned for many months, so think the WCG people know what is facing them.

Re: New Server Farm

I will follow knreed recomendation to buffer 2 days of work " to bridge the down time next week " . Appear be a good idea to avoid any additional problem and help a smooth transition to WCG team.

If eventually could I crunch more than it, so I will dedicate more power time to help other grid computing project. coffee
