I'm new here.
----------------------------------------When I need to reboot my PC, does the BOINC Manager restart itself? Will it take up where it left off? Thanks... Gandalf_PCHF ![]() ![]() O/S -LinuxMint 64-bit, Release 13 (maya). DE: Cinnamon |

Hello Gandalf_PCHF,
Will it take up where it left off? Almost. The project writes checkpoints at intervals. When you reboot, BOINC starts at the last checkpoint. So you may lose several minutes. Not to worry! Lawrence |

I lost over an hour of compute time when I needed to reboot today.
Is there a way to force the project to create a new checkpoint before I reboot? |

Sadly, no. Usually you will lose less time than that. It depends on the project, and the particular task.
There are some tips about checkpoint intervals here: http://wcg.wikia.com/wiki/Checkpoints |
