As we know a lot of clean energy technology is patented today. This stops many emerging countries like China from using certain parts of clean technology because of the patents. Improvements in wind mills, for example.
If you have a breakthrough in solar cell technology, what will happen? |

Results will be in the public domain, therefore anyone with the necessary skills will be able to use them to build and commercialize new products based on these discoveries. And when I say anyone I mean not only the first one.

yes there are lots of concerns about developing countries and such...
----------------------------------------you also have to remember alot of the developing countries do not need as much power (excluding China and a few others) yes i am glad that these will be public domain so all countries can get the tech impovements and such also remember just cause someone has a US patent on it dosnt mean that other countries respect the patent (not geting into the Digital rights media though thats off topic) just hopeing we get a breakthrough :) ![]() |
