the only reason i am not for this is even though i only have 1 computer with multi-core it still counts for 2 days of computing time a day and im sorry but im greedy and want my badged and such ... and the end result is eithor way you get the project's done in the same time your just doing more at once to difrent projects

WCG didn't exactly choose this path. It's a limitation of BOINC, and before that, UD.

Version 6+ BOINC clients can handle SMP apps. There is a test/sample app in the SVN repository at boinc/samples/multi_thread/.

However as mentioned elsewhere in this thread the project implements parallelism by sending tasks out to multiple computers not running multiple threads on one computer. From most project's point of view this will probably be the best way to do things for some time.
