Re: The Clean Energy Project - Crunching Chart

honestly i wish they wouldnt artificaly limit work units for a project... if there are enough people who only want to crunch 1 project they should be able to knock it out of the park or make the scientists scramble to keep us in work till we kill the project..

i do understsand the limit though...

good luck on everyones badges and hope we do manage to knock this one down so we can get to another project...

Re: The Clean Energy Project - Crunching Chart

Anyone as far as I can determine is able to knock out the park that has CEP as an exclusive. It may take multiple requests for back fill, but it will come. It's not like 10,500 are loaded at 00:01, rather a steady supply trickle so no-one can hoover up the whole supply. The Dysoning causes batch validation delay no doubt thus increasing the server resource pressure. Aside the limiting due the numbers, it sure gives those with few cores at their disposal to reach their individual badge goal and rush their is not given that the original idea was to dynamically feed phase 1 data into the phase 2 pipeline. That pipe has still to open.

Re: The Clean Energy Project - Crunching Chart

looks like a controlled mean of 10,500 units a day with batches of which uplinger clearly said he only knows by count [scientist info], not by size or degree of toughness. The aim was to finish by end of the year. But who knows if snags develop; you have to consider that and the project going into another interlude. Don't let me stop you though ;>)

Edit: The numbers are the result counts validated of course. Other curves have a lag factor being a mean, responding to events as far back as 60 days.

Since july 31 it's indeed around 10500 results per day. Before that date this project did seem to run under the top. That was the DDDT rush time still.
And probably the effect of some lags made me think the project looked like speeding up. The controlled limit was known to me
Thank for correcting me!

Re: The Clean Energy Project - Crunching Chart

Updated extrapolation:

73,52% aug 05
74,73% aug 08
75,05% aug 09
75,94% aug 12
76,36% aug 14.

This makes 2,84% in 9 days, that is 0,316% per day
This pace would give us another 75 days for CEP.
The average is now a little lower, so the estimated time went up a few days smile

Remember this is just extrapolation, figures can change

The average is probably a little lower only because of the Beta Testing that is happening now. Anyone that has CEP only checked was more likely to pick up a beta thus fewer cycles for CEP. The daily average should pick back up in a day or two.

love struck Re: The Clean Energy Project - Crunching Chart

In my cache I am seeing a dwindling of WU for CEP. I have CEP only checked, seeing no Beta work units but a decres of about 8% of total WU's over the last 3 days with no changes on my part in parameters. So it could be Beta units and as my Cahes are set at 8-9 days to much of a delay to get Betas (most likely) or the number of WU is experiancing a tempory lags due to other reasons or the number of WU's is reaching the end (unlikely). Saw the post about number of WU's completed a day but not sure what that means over all. As we went from 7k to 10 k/day but what is the total number of WU's. Yes if by increasing the work out put 50% it will speed up progrect but is total number of WU's fixed or as some imply flexible? love struck love struck love struck

Is your client trying to get more and not able to do so? It sounds like your client thinks it is taking your system longer to complete the work and thus is queing up fewer in the cache.

Re: The Clean Energy Project - Crunching Chart

Judson,

I am running CEP 24/7 with just 0.5 days cache and keeping continuous work. Occasionally a host request for work will fail but on the next call it will be filled.
Unless you only connect once a week, I would suggest you lower your cache considerably.

I suspect your cache would exclude you from beta which only had 4 days for return. With my small cache I did very well out of this beta round.
Apparently new projects/phases are pending so I guess there will be more beta before long.
Now is the time to get ready so that you can expect to get some beta units whenever they do appear. Show the server you are a reliable quick returner.

Cheers
