No.
In beta tests, all results matter, whatever the outcome. You will only be advised to abort a work unit if something major is wrong, such as a task that never completes. |

eduardo.jayme, the output file was absent because the task failed, not the other way around.
Hope that gives you some insight into what is going on. The result logs are already available to the techs, and the techs will be looking closely at any logs showing consistent errors. |

In beta tests, all results matter, whatever the outcome. Not necessarily. If, as JmBoullier said, lots have "errored the same", there may be no point. This particular WU was originally sent out 3.5 days ago. One set of machines failed. Another set of machines failed. One gave up. Now the scheduler is trying again. If betas from that time crashed consistently, the techs may already know what was wrong by now. (... or, if not, may have new betas to work out the specific conditions.) The point of my question was to see if there were any useful replies from techs, not platitudes. |

The techs have already answered this question numerous times.
The answer hasn't changed. |

One of the platitudes is that distribution automatically stops at the 7th error.

One of the platitudes is that distribution automatically stops at the 7th error. I wouldn't call that a platitude. It's specific and useful information that I've not seen mentioned before. And lucky me: Mine was the 7th to error out. |

Will there be another linux beta for CEP next week after the bugs are ironed out? If so I'll run down my que of other WU's over the weekend to be ready for action.
Ideally the final linux version would be released before Christmas. I like presents. ![]() |

eduardo, Many thanks for your detailed report. I think that the techs will appreciate. The only things that you could add another time are the first message lines when you start a new session: they contain everything needed about your machine. But this time I have the feeling that it is not too important since most or all Linux beta WUs seem to have errored the same. Cheers. Jean.
