Re: The Clean Energy project: Welcome all!

Sorry but you created 2 member registration, 1 on 5th, 1 on 6th. Latter you used for your first postings, that's the account with which these posts stay, and the credits.

Account merging is not a developed feature and no plans are on the board to develop this function.

confused Re: The Clean Energy project: Welcome all!

I'm anxious to participate in the CEP. I've selected participate in all projects under my projects and am receiving work for all active BOINC projects on both my office laptop and my home computer except, CEP? Are there some minimum hardware requirements I need to meet? To-date I've been able to satisfy the minimum for all projects so I'm wondering why I'm not seeing any CEP activity?

I suggest just select CEP as unique project to download, and after few time when your machines will update/send any work done, you will download CEP WU's for sure. After get the quantity that appear ok for you, just return and select all projects again...good lucky, good crunch. coffee

Re: The Clean Energy project: Welcome all!

There are probably a lot of people set up to run only CEP right now to get their badges. Once they have gotten them I would think the workload would be more evenly distributed.
I'll confess for a while I had a machine set to run only CEP to get a badge quicker, and sometimes I would get other projects because there wasn't any CEP work.
Even on my machines with multiple projects selected, I still receive a CEP job here and there. The less projects you select in your profile, the better your chances will be to get some CEP jobs. Just make sure and keep the box checked that says if there is no work available for your selected projects to send work from other projects.

Re: The Clean Energy project: Welcome all!

I don't know if this is the case for CEP, but for most project launches, the techs start the project slowly. That way, if a huge problem emerges, the impact is minimised. And given the beta problems, I imagine they are even more cautious than usual.

Now that I have about enough CEP WU 'In Progress' for my badges, I have gone and also turned NRW back on (my primary project) along with DDDT which has been on all along.

I love the sound of this project!

I have about 8 more days to get the gold badge on Rice, then I will select this project as well. (All while purchasing my electricity from renewable resources, as interesting as that may be.)

Looks like the demand for CEP WUs has exceeded the supply:

Looks like Rice may run out as well:

Hopefully that box is checked to receive work if none available for the selected jobs.
