Error 1325 in the installation of Boinc-6.2.28

I am trying to install Boinc-6.2.28 on a windows xp, but when I execute the installer, it return me a error message:

Error 1325.Arquivos_de_Programas is not a valid short file name.

"Arquivos_de_Programas" mean "Program Files", is a directory in my windows.

I make a print screen of the error.

see the image in the link -- http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/149/imagemuf2.jpg

thanks.

Maybe it's because of a failed uninstallation of an older version of BOINC? You may try to follow the advice from here.

(To edit Registry: click Start --> click Run --> type regedit --> click OK)

Re: Error 1325 in the installation of Boinc-6.2.28

This issue may occur if you have reinstalled BOINC on a new drive after you moved or removed the drive in which BOINC was originally installed. It can also mean you have a corrupted Windows installation.

Either way, I suggest you use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 to remove the old BOINC version before trying again.
