I've downloaded and installed the Boinc agent version 6.2.28 few days ago and the result appear be fine.
----------------------------------------I just notice that running on a Intel Core Extreme 9770 3.2 GHz with 32 bit Vista Ultimate 4 GB RAM, the energy consumption of machine was reduced almost 10% compared with the same machine running Boinc version 5.10.45 . Regards. Gib@ ![]()

GIBA,
----------------------------------------Do you run the Screensaver Graphics? WCG implemented a new feature limiting the frames per second refresh and CPU cycles used by the SS. The settings can only be changed via the website device profile. They are not in the Local Prefs because each Distributed Grid can set it's own controls... not all Graphics are equally resource hungry.

Maybe the new feature related with Screensaver graphics be the responsable las SEK indicated.
----------------------------------------But, in 5.10.45 we can't decided how many % of processor was dedicated to graphics. Again, in my case I did not used screensaver before, and if version 5.10.45 have some hiden similar feature that setup some part of processor (for example the same 5% that is default in 6.2.28 now) to screensaver graphics processing, it is the answer. By other side, it could be some tasks or orutines otimization in this new version, I don't know... Regards. Gib@ ![]()

Hey JohnTerk, if you are talking about what utility I used to my evaluation about the consumption, I used the ASUS AI Gear# control panel to indicate my machine consumptions and get information in realtime... hope that answer your question. Regards.
