sad Boinc simply doesn't respect my preferences

Boinc runs the calculations regardless the rules I gave through "Preferences" AND through WCG profile. I'd like it starts to run after 1 minute of idleness, but it simply keeps running all the time, no matter what I do. It doesn't stop!

I'll be forced to uninstall boinc from my home pc if I can't solve this issue.

I'm running Ubuntu 8.10, Boinc 5.10.45. Please don't ask me to upgrade Boinc (http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=22369 ).

Re: Boinc simply doesn't respect my preferences

Ok. I gave up the old 5.10.45 (why does WCD still use this?!). I intalled back the newest version from repositories and made it work (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ca-certificates/+bug/246205).

Re: Boinc simply doesn't respect my preferences

Hi, you need to take the closing bracket in your posted link and move it "after" [/url] else it wont work.

The workaround was added to the FAQs for future reference.

Thank you, but I didn't even opened it ;)
It didn't work because i put the parenthesis too close.

and it's a very good idea to take it to the FAQs. One more information: as far as i know this workaroud is needed only in ubuntu 8.10 (Boinc works well in previous version of ubuntu, at least for me) and for Boinc from repositories. The problem I had with boinc 5.10.45 I couldn't solve.
