Requesting 0 seconds of work This means you don't need more work right now. Why are you trying to get more? Are there not tasks in progress already? There are lots of settings you can change, but usually you don't need to. |

If you look in the Advanced View of the BOINC manager you can click on Advanced -> Preferences -> then click on the tab at the top that says Network Usage. From there you can change your Additional Work Buffer. I believe you can set it up to 10 days, but be careful. If you set it too high you might not finish the work in time depending on how long your computer is on and how fast it is. I usually set mine to Connect About Every .25 days and set the Additional Work Buffer to about .5 days. That keeps a few jobs in the queue, not too many. If my queue is already filled to .5 days and I click update, the only thing it will do is clear out the Ready to Report jobs, which it will do on its own in time.
Plus if you're new, it will take BOINC a few days to adjust to your habits, i.e. computer usage, time the computer is on, etc. Once it adjusts it will run more smoothly and should keep your queue filled up to your specs. |

No work has been processed for weeks. Then I get a form letter from WCG saying that they miss me and would like me to do more work.
I've got two other projects as well, but I presumed that they would share / rotate time (one other project seems inactive as well). |

I've changed this setting (work buffer); will follow what happens.
Thanks |

World Community Grid have multiple sub-projects, as you know. To give it a fair share of time, increase the project weight to 500, here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/v...iguration.do?name=Default

Hi comstone,
If nothing happens, you had better describe yur setup to us (which projects, assigned weights, etc.). There is a file in your BOINC directory that keeps track of time spent on each project. When something happens to this file, strange things can happen. Incidentally, you probably do not need any extra work cache if you are running multiple projects. Lawrence |

Hello bllmtt,
BOINC keeps track of how much time you have spent on each project and adjusts your job mix according to your project weights. You need to find out the current weight assigned to each project. If that seems out of whack compared with your job weight, then we can look at the BOINC file that lists your accrued debt to each project and see what it says. Sometimes, for reasons I do not understand, that file goes awry. Lawrence |

SOrry, but I can't understand what I have to do. My preferences are set to take works from all projects inside world community grid and the device profile is set to "maximum output"
