one very good way to increase members would be to tap into the Folding@Home community.

There are a ton of people that fold on their graphics cards.
and this software plays nice with the F@H GPU client.

I'm currently using F@H and Boinc at the same time while surfing the web/Watching Anime/TV episodes/shows.

I so far don't notice much slowdown in my computer.
