Hey guys,
maybe someone suggested this already, but I haven't found it in this forum. While browsing trough other BOINC projects I came across this great status page for work units on QMC@home (http://qah.uni-muenster.de/statusbar.php). A similar page for the WCG work units would be great and would give the crunchers some insight into the crunching status within the projects itself. What do you think? Cheers. |

Pretty, but actually uninformative.
World Community Grid are working on better ways of keeping members informed about progress. It's not a simple problem - each project is different. |

World Community Grid are working on better ways of keeping members informed about progress. This is great to hear.  Any indication by when this will be implemented?It's not a simple problem - each project is different. I can imagine that this is not simple (I'm not sure whether this is a "problem", though  ). I'm sure that any work on giving the grid members more insight into the project's progress is highly appreciated (see also all the replies when a status update is posted in the forum). |

Summary information would be interesting to know, but details by WU are not. Way too many WU in WCG. Its also unfair to compare WCG with its multiple projects to the other BOINC projects that are single project. |

Summary information would be interesting to know, but details by WU are not. Way too many WU in WCG. Yup, agree. Status on the workunit level is to detailed and already available on BOINC. What I meant here was more on the serie or experiment level. But I'm curious to see what WCG has in mind (see Didactylos' post). Its also unfair to compare WCG with its multiple projects to the other BOINC projects that are single project. Hmm, I don't remember that I "compared" WCG with any other BOINC project. I only pointed to a status page - just a suggestion. How can a suggestion be fair or "unfair"? It's up to the technical team to analyze whether something is feasible or not. As per Didactylos, they are working already on something ... which is already beyond of that what I hoped to hear. Cheers. |

----------------------------------------WCG dedicated a person who's taken on the issue of project progress information access and research result accessibility and the papers to go with that. Sometime in an undefined future we should see this effort translated in changes on e.g. the Research pages. ciao
