Dear All,
This is to announce that we have finished the analysis of all data from phase I, and that we will soon be able to proceed with the launch of phase II! We have a very good interfacing between JET and MAXDO (JET is the program predicting interaction sites and MAXDO is the docking program running on the grid) and this will let us reduce drastically the number of docking interfaces between pairs of proteins. The MAXDO code will be finalized in the next few weeks and will be delivered to WCG in say, three weeks. This does not mean that the WCG team will be able to start work on it immediately as they will have to fit in into their schedule. Once they receive the code they will communicate an approximate start date for phase II. In the meantime we shall finalize the list of proteins that will be docked in phase II and we shall run JET on our own machines to detect potential interaction sites. These detections will filter out MAXDO's input and reduce the number of docking faces crunched on the grid. Great news,
my son has a missense point mutation in exon 14 (nucleotide 1616 changes G->A mutation R539Q) and it seems to be the only one to have such a mutation. The RNA seems to be complete and the protein is produced but it seems that for this kind of mutation it is unstable or unfunctional, infact in the muscular tissue it is not present. Souhaitons que les proverbes "qui va doucement va loin" ou "plus c'est long, plus c'est bon" s'appliqueront à ce projet et qu'il en découlera des avancées significatives et des découvertes qui guériront de nombreux malades dans l'espoir. In english : Very good new Alessandra because numerous are the ones who looked forward to the resumption of this project. Let us wish that the proverbs " who goes slowly go far " or " the more it is long, the more it is good " will apply to this project and that it will ensue from it significant headways and discoveries which will cure numerous patients in the hope. |
