I especially like the rounded modern graphical style of the client. However I think a couple things need to be a little more customizable. I really like the Folding@Home client which allows you to set the HKEY_USERS/.DEFAULT/CONTROL PANEL/DESKTOP/SCRNSAVE key to allow the screen saver to be run while not logged in. While the user is logged in the client runs with an entry in the system tray. It also has a screen saver that will kick-in. So if the computer is on and booted into Windows, the client will run and while the computer is not in use (i.e. screensaver kicks in) you get a cool screensaver that advertises computing for a cause.

You can probably also configure the client to run as a service. Running the screensaver uses CPU resources which could be put to use crunching data.

Running this as a service would be optimal as I could have it running 24/7 on a server I have that I cannot be logged into when I am not here.
Instructions to set this up would be most benificial. |

I would also be interested in a set of instructions for setting up as a Windows service. I've got a few of my co-workers going on this now and most of them restart their computers as they leave. Would be nice if the grid started when windows did. |

I run other programs as a service using SRVANY and INSTSRV from the MS Windows Resource kit. I haven't had a chance to try UD yet.

I've set up all three of my PC's running as a service (XP, Win2k, Win2003). Use instsrv to create a service using srvany. You can easily find the directions by searching the web for these utilities.

Yea, you could do that...but is it good?
When can we see a new client implementation that we can chose to run as a NT service? *Hugz* Lars |

Some people have used the following to install the agent as a service:
