I'd like to be able to set up the software to run whenever my laptop is plugged in, but stop when I'm running off battery power. Is this likely to be added as an enhancement?

This is already a feature of the agent. If your laptop is running on battery, the agent will automatically sleep. When your laptop is plugged in again, the agent will automatically start running. - Rick Alther

The agent should do this automatically right now. If it thinks you are on only battery power, it will pause computing to conserve you battery capacity.

Thanks for the information. I have verified that the agent does indeed stop as soon as I switch to battery power.

True, this feature is already built into the software. However, as a point of interest, the utility at the link below is supposed to prevent it from disabling the software if you don't mind running it while on battery power. It also enables the use of dual CPUs.
I have not used it myself, but it appears in other forums and people seem to find it useful. http://blakenyc77.tripod.com/udtweaker.html |
