crunching at MIT?

FRIDAY, Aug. 22 -- A new method of identifying protein structures related to Alzheimer's disease has been developed by researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The research team says its computer-based technique could help in the development of drugs that could prevent the formation of such structures...

halfcard, it would be handy if you would try to collect your finds on a particular topic in 1 thread. Makes it for others much easier to read up on related stuff. Can see threads for Alzheimer, Parkinson, Malaria, ALS

i'm not interested in what disease is involved, i'm thinking about their crunching methods compared to WCG (such as 'Energy-minima Mapping and Weighting (EMW)'. it is mentioned in the article. also it appears they do not have distributed computing but they do solicit large sums of cash. smile
