Suspending computation - no recent user activity

Hi Griders,

I am new with the BOINC tool and I am wondering about something:

When I have the Agent running and don't use my computer for 20 minutes, the current work is suspended with the comment "no recent user activity"...

Is the agent not supposed to run when you don't use the computer ? I have set the preferences so that the computation can run while the computer is in use, but does that mean that it will run ONLY when the computer is in use, and stop after a while when you don't use it ?

Thanks in advance if anyone can tell me how to allow the BOINC Agent to run when I use the computer AND when I don't use it !

My config:
LeNovo T61p, Win XP + SP3

Regards,

Re: Suspending computation - no recent user activity

Hi,

You've probably chosen the Power Saving pre-set profile. The default for that one is to stop computing after 20 minutes of no keyboard or mouse input. This allows for the computer to go to sleep. If you don't want that, switch to e.g. the Standard Settings profile.

ciao

Hi Sekerob,

You're right, the selected internet setting was on "Power Saving". I've put it on Standard now, and that should do it.

Actually, I never saw this setting page on the webpage before...

Thanks a lot for your quick help !
