Hi guys Sekerob and Didactylos, Your discussion goes way beyond my original question. I am running Boinc 5.10.21. Based on the units processed and reported as shown on the WCG website, it appears to work as it should. However, if really need to upgrade I asked originally if I can simply install the new version of Boinc over the old version and in the same directory. I do that with the Mozilla applications. Thank you for your reply, -39er Yes, you can just install over it, even while it's running, if it works proper, but too many install fails are being reported to rely on that momentarily (i still cant get the unprotected install (fka single/shared user install) to launch the core client on Vista). Word from the back-room is that we're weeks away from adopting at WCG and since it's holiday time, it will be later before it gets packaged with the WCG skin and other special settings to make it WCG "fit".... we'll see, but don't think 6.2.14 will ever be promoted here (by me). 2 Euro cents.

If WCG is where our efforts are directed, lets wait until the Techs and CAs get BOINC 6x tested so we don't initiate a large support effort onto their shoulders
