I am trying to run the Win NT compatible version on a new NT server (the software we use at the office only supports NT, don’t ask…) I have it set up in preferences to only use 100MB space and when ever it tries to get new projects this is the error list I get. How do I fix the Bolded part?

100mb is definitively not enough. I believe the default is 10gb and the more projects run simultaneous, the more is needed.
----------------------------------------[Added: The highest specified for a single project is 1GB and DDDT & FAAH require 600mb alone. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq ]

There are three settings for diskspace: max % to use, max GB to use, and min GB to keep free. Maybe you have run into this last limit?

100mb is definitively not enough. I believe the default is 2gb and the more projects run simultaneous, the more is needed. ya unfortunately as you can see from the system specs 2 g is not going to happen especially on my NT machine Windows NT supports up to 4Gb per partition in fat16 whereas windows 95 only supported 2 GB per partition. so should i limit the projects for the School preferences to like 1. another question why does the preferences list 100mb as a setting if it isn't enough to begin with? |

Well according what you wrote "I have it set up in preferences to only use 100MB space", you were the one setting that limit and the smallest projects, if you select those only like HCC & RICE will make do with it. It's not like the prefs selection looks at the projects you chose to contribute to.
----------------------------------------You can set it to a number of 2gb and take off African as that one is wanting 1gb. There is the % factor to consider what is needed to be left free, so e.g. 80% use of 795 free allows 636mb use.

When I said "Maybe you have run into this last limit?" I was being diplomatic. You have run into this limit.
7/14/08 1:36:01 PM|World Community Grid|Message from server: The preference you set for minimum disk space free has been exceeded by 3056.70 MB. BOINC keeps a certain amount of your drive free, so that BOINC is never the application that uses up your last byte and trashes your system. It looks like you have this setting too high for such a small drive. If you only have 795 MB free (as BOINC reports), then maybe set the minimum free space to 500 MB. |

You are already using the preference override file. This means your active preferences may not match the website (profile) preferences. It's all terribly confusing.
Your imageshack image won't open. May I recommend http://imagebin.ca/upload.php instead? |
