Hi,
I was wondering if I change my computer name will upset the device name settings on the website? e.g if I change my computer name from JamesPC to James-Desktop what will happen? Will my points be affected? I think it would be cool to be able to make a friendly device names online, just so I can destinguish my devices since I have 3 with the name JamesPC :) |

BOINC tracks devices with a numerical ID. You can change the computer name, and it will update on the website without affecting your points. So, go right ahead.

Hello sansanwawa,
----------------------------------------My Grid - Device Manager shows 'With Result(s) Returned: In the last 14 days' by default. It is possible to select other time windows or see all the devices you have ever registered. There is a long-standing argument that My Grid - My Statistics should show the number of Active Device Installations since the total number of devices ever installed is unimportant. After 14 days of inactivity they disappear from the default list of devices. You can still see them with the historical points generated if you expand the selection in the device manager or device statistics.
