Website user rename

Hi!

After changing user name post counter on the forum is again 0. Though it can be correct from the WCG code point of view, maybe it would be better to keep the score and user rank. smile

Re: Website user rename

No, renames should keep post count and user points/rankings.... let me try my test account to see if there is a bug.

Re: Website user rename

Well, seems that after the change no posts could be found with the advanced search function, but the points/rankings were fine in My Grid. Did you check to see if the posts still appeared under the old name?

nelsoc, I've noticed that it sometimes fails to log in or sits there for minutes to succeed during stats update. Is there something more broken?

cheers

Sek, the problem with the log in during stats is not that anything is broken. During the status update, the database is pretty much constantly accessing user data, so trying to get the request to log in through all that can be slow, and sometimes it times out. Nothing we can really do about that except upgrade the hardware, which we are working on.

Point, rank and badges are OK. Only forum post count is affected. New posts appear with new name. Old posts - with old name.
