Got 3 little icons in the systray informing of the operating state:
----------------------------------------1. The mode the CPU is in (util from the laptop manft.) 2. CPU % Util (Process Lasso monitor) 3. Temp of CPU's (Core Temp) Speedfan does nothing on this laptop (read it works on few). Still looking for a util that reads out the fan revs like speedfan does when expanded. AND, found a manual on the internet for the removal of the keyboard (2 screws and 3 sprockets). Before, discovered that taking out the PCI card dummy cover opened up an (not designed for) air intake and low & behold the temp dropped 2C, suggesting that the original places are likely goo'd up (with cookie, crisps & other stuff dust mix).

18 months? How much of this can be blamed on Summer? On most laptops, the keyboard will pop off. It probably sucks air through the keyboard as well as various other vents. Finally got to be 100% sure how to do this popping and sure enough, the temps dropped 9C.... amazing, whilst the cooling block itself was speckless .... room to throttle up again :D
