Dave --
I was checking out the My Online Team web site at http://www.myonlineteam.info and saw all the pictures of the new server you are building to host our web site. I noticed that a Purple World Community Grid Stress Ball was very handily positioned in the final shot and wondered if you had to resort to its use very much during the assembly of the new server Do I get the prize for being first to mention Purple Stress Balls in a post? -- Dave |

I was a bit disappointed to arrive at work this morning to find that two of my ancient computers were not able to finish a single workunit since Friday. There is not even a reason to replace them, as they each run a very low level application, for which they are quite adequate. Oh well
---------------------------------------- One other problem: I have set my my profile to receive 50 posts (yes, and saved it), but when I follow the thread from the team site, it always defaults to 10 posts, 52 pages now!! What to do?

Hi Fanie, my no.2 machine is currently into its third day on one package as well. The large packages seem to come and go don't they.
Can't help with the posting problem. What you've done sounds like what I did and its working ok for me. I'm sure one of the admins will be able to help later in the day. |

Hi Fanie --
I wouldn't worry about the two antiques you have running. If they show progress in the WCG agent window, they will eventually finish their work units. As far as not seeing 50 posts in a page of the forum, it sounds like you might have hit the "reset" instead of the "edit my information" button when you exited. Check back at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/myprofile and see what the posts per page is set at. If it is still 10, select "edit my information" and then when you set it to 50, hit the "edit my information" and not the "reset" button to save it. Your friend and team mate, |

OK - after my small hiccup, I've found how to post in the correct thread! (It's dangerous out there guys - don't leave the MOT thread!).
----------------------------------------I know what you mean about coming in on a Monday to find the work PC hasn't been able to complete jobs or has been switched off! I almost came in over Easter holiday to check! BobG |

Good Morning from the UK to all the MOT gang
I don't know if it's just me but the links to our Website (from the Signature Banners) does not take us to the MOT site anymore . The link from the WCG seems to be OK.I suppose this is just a glitch with all the changes recently, to banners & server etc. (Just wanted to let Dave, Graham, Billy Bob etc know). |

Nope, it is set at 50. Still getting only.
----------------------------------------I think because of the long distance to South Africa, THEY only allow me to get 10 in order to prevent the whole system from overheating ![]()

I have just dusted of another old relic from the storeroom, loaded WCG and connected it to the network.
----------------------------------------Nope, only 64 ram, grid server is rejecting me. Is this SDR ram? I don't believe you get this anymore. Back to the storeroom you cute 486.

Fanie --
Before you go dusting off another of those relics, you might want to visit the Minimum System Requirements page at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq. You have to have a Pentium class processor running at least at 200 MHz as well as 128 MB of RAM. It is unfortunate that some of those old systems cannot participate, but newer software tends to employ features not found on older systems. |
