Ubuntu Libraries

Hi,

I am new to Ubuntu but not to WCG. I was wondering how I can find the WCG libraries for linux. Is it available somewhere? I am new to Linux so I don't know my way around as much as I would like but I am trying. Any help would be great!

Re: Ubuntu Libraries

To load boinc in Ubuntu just type this:
sudo apt-get install boinc-client boinc-manager
When finished open the boinc manager and the project wizard should start. Follow the prompts.

Re: Ubuntu Libraries

Also note that if you are using 64-bit Ubuntu, installing 32-bit libraries will probably be necessary to get WCG's science applications to work.

Open a terminal session and enter the following to install 32-bit libs

sudo apt-get install ia32-libs

Re: Ubuntu Libraries

Hello alfa88,
All our applications are compiled in 32-bit compilers, so they use some of the routines in the 32-bit libraries. They can run in a 64-bit OS, but require 32-bit support.

Eventually this will change, when there are enough 64-bit OS members to justify supporting applications that cannot run in 32-bit systems.
