Hello.. I ran the world community grid - fight aids at home for several months now.. on my laptop and on my pc.

7 GB more used by BOINC than you allow! You need to examine your system. BOINC does not normally use anything like 7 GB.

I use WinXP with all available service packs and I'd say I have some experience.. I did some some reorganization on my discs lately (sorted files, moved folders and stuff like that) but did nothing in the boinc config. So BOINC runs in Data directory: E:\Programme

Just look in the BOINCmgr Disk tab to see a pie with and approximation of the space used.

I have this structure:
c: windows and windows allown d: all data (pictures, music, documents..) I use to call it my archive e: programms, all of them that can be installed there without affecting windows like: office, open office, msn messenger, winamp, boinc.. : programs f: my windows swap file and some still unsorted data (unfinished projects from work.. organ music sheeds..) |

If BOINC.exe is in E:\Programme and not in e.g. E:\Programme\BOINC\ anything in E:\Programme is counted plus the sub dirs. A bit messy, but setting the very high disk permission worked around it.

 sorry, read only half of your message :-( Yes, I made that change after receiving the error message first time.. I allowed boinc to use more because it's okay for me I hope I translated your request correctly to german (found then hopefully what you need) and here is what I think you meant: lefzt side: total disc space free 44,12 gb used by boing: 46,53mb occupied by other: 49,33gb right side: disc space used by boinc projects: 36,86mb |

If you have installed all your programs this way, then they are all mixed up. You need to install to a directory named "BOINC" in your program partition, and similarly install your other programs to individual directories.

you're correct:
while the installation process the suggestion was (maybe as a result of a prior installation some weeks ago) e:\programme for boinc and that is where it has been installed, not in e:\programme\boinc you think I'd better reinstall it to a sub directory? |
